Watching my dear friend Kathy suffer from early onset Alzheimer's has been an emotional rollercoaster. Although we've only been friends for two years, it feels like a lifetime because of the bond we've formed. Seeing her struggle daily, knowing that her memories are slowly fading away, breaks my heart.
I can't even begin to fathom how hard it must be for her to face each day and look in the mirror, not recognizing the person staring back at her. It's a cruel reality that I wish I could take away from her.
But instead of feeling helpless, I decided to channel my emotions into something beautiful. I wrote a song that encapsulates the pain and sorrow of watching someone you love slowly slip away. The haunting melodies and lyrics convey the depth of my love and admiration for Kathy.
This song is dedicated to my dear friend Kathy Wolfe, who continues to fight bravely against this disease. I love you, and I will stand by your side through it all.
